10 Perfect Design of Earth

Akhzaweb - One of the latest findings in the world of science that became a byword among scientists is what called the anthropic principle.

This principle reveals that every detail is contained in the universe has been designed with perfect precision to enable human life. Small example of the anthropic principle can be found on the facts relating to the earth's existence.

In this case, an American astronomer Hugh Ross in his book entitled 'The Fingerprint of God, Recent Scientific Discoveries Reveal the Unmistakable Identitiy of The Creator' has made his own list.

1. Distance of the earth with the sun

Distance of the sun to the earth is 149,669,000 kilometers (or 93 million miles). This distance is known as the astronomical unit and the usual rounded (for simplification of the count) to 148 million kilometers.

Compared with Earth, the solar diameter roughly 112 times larger. Tensile force of the sun is roughly 30 times the force of gravity. Sunlight took the 8 minutes to get to the earth.
 If even further:
the earth would be too cold for a stable water cycle.

If more closely:
the earth would be too hot for a stable water cycle
2. Gravity at the earth's surface
 
Surface gravity of an astronomical objects (planets, stars, etc.) is the acceleration of gravity applies to surface of the object. Surface gravity depends on mass and radius of the object. Frequently surface gravity is expressed as a ratio with the applicable provisions of the earth.









If stronger:
Earth's atmosphere would hold too much toxic gases (ammonia and methane)

If weaker:
Earth's atmosphere would lose too thin because many air
3. The Earth rotation period

Rotation the earth refers to the movement of planet Earth rotates on its axis and movement in its orbit around the sun.













 If longer:
The temperature difference on the day and night is too big

If faster:
Wind speeds in the atmosphere is too high
4. Albedo

Albedo is a quantity that describes the comparison between the rays of the sun that arrive at Earth's surface and are reflected back into space with changes in wavelength (outgoing longwave radiation).

Wavelength difference between coming and that is reflected can be attributed to how much solar energy is absorbed by the earth's surface.

If greater:
Uncontrolled ice age will occur

If less:
Runaway greenhouse effect would occur
5. earthquake activity
An earthquake is a vibration or shocks that occur in the earth's surface.
Commonly earthquakes are caused by movement of the earth's crust (the Earth's plates). The word earthquake is also used to indicate the origin of the earthquake occurrence.

Our Earth is solid though, always moving, and earthquakes occur when the pressure that occurs because the movement was already too large to be retained.

If greater:
Too many living things perish

If less:
Foodstuffs seafloor will not be recycled to the mainland through the appointment of tectonic
6. The thickness of the crust
The crust is the outermost layer the earth is divided into two categories, that is oceanic crust and continental crust. Oceanic crust has a thickness of about 5-10 km, whereas the continental crust has a thickness of about 20-70 km.

The main constituent of oceanic crust is basalt rock, while the rocks making up the main continental crust is granite, which is not as dense basalt rock. Earth's crust and part mantle lithosphere form layers with a total thickness of approximately 80 km.

If thicker:
Too much oxygen moves from the atmosphere to the the earth crust

If thinner:
Tectonic and volcanic activity would be too large
7. Earth's magnetic field

Earth's magnetosphere is a region in space whose shape is determined by the breadth of the earth's internal magnetic field, solar wind plasma and interplanetary magnetic field.

In the magnetosphere, a mixture of ions and free electrons either from the solar wind and the ionosphere the earth constrained by magnetic forces and electric that is stronger than gravity and collision

If stronger:
Electromagnetic storms would be too damaging

If weaker:
Lack of protection from harmful radiation coming from outer space
 8. Gravitational interactions with the moon
 
Moon drawn by the force of gravity does not fall into the the earth caused by the centrifugal force arising from the moon's orbit around the earth.

The amount of centrifugal force the moon is slightly larger than the gravitational attractive forces between the earth and the moon. This causes the moon farther away from Earth at about 3.8 cm / year.

If greater:
Tidal effects on the oceans, atmosphere and the rotation period of increasingly destructive

If less:
Indirect changes in the orbit causes climate instability
9. Levels of carbon dioxide and water vapor in the atmosphere

Earth's atmosphere consists of nitrogen (78.17%) and oxygen (20.97%), with a little argon (0.9%), carbon dioxide (variable, but approximately 0.0357%), water vapor and other gases.

The atmosphere protects life on the earth by absorbing ultraviolet radiation from the sun and reducing temperature extremes between day and night.

75% of the atmosphere is in 11 km from the planet's surface. The atmosphere does not have a direct limit tapat borders, but rather gradually thinned by adding height, there is no definite boundary between the atmosphere and outer space.
If greater:
Runaway greenhouse effect would occur

If less:
The greenhouse effect is not sufficient
10. Levels of ozone in the atmosphere

Ozone consists of three molecules of oxygen and very dangerous to human health. Naturally, ozone is produced through the mixing of ultraviolet light by the earth's atmosphere and form an ozone layer at an altitude of 50 kilometers.

Ozone is concentrated in the lower stratosphere between 15 and 30 km above the Earth's surface known as the 'ozone layer'.

Ozone is produced by various chemical compounds, but the main mechanism of income and transfer in the atmosphere is the energy absorption of ultraviolet light (UV) from the sun.


If greater:
Earth's surface temperature is too low

If less:
Earth's surface temperature is too high, too much ultraviolet radiation
